Rep. Beson welcomes proposed Consumers Energy investment in Hampton Township

State Rep. Timmy Beson today issued the following statement after Consumers Energy announced plans that include a potential new natural gas facility at the Karn Generating Facility in Hampton Township as part of its upcoming Integrated Resource Plan.

“Hampton Township and the surrounding Bay County community have long played an important role in powering Michigan,” said Beson (R-Bay City). “Investments that utilize existing infrastructure at the Karn site help support local jobs, strengthen our tax base, and reinforce our community’s role in keeping energy reliable and affordable for local families and small businesses.”

Beson said he will continue monitoring the proposal as it moves through the approval process with the Michigan Public Service Commission.
